WHO ARE WE

Sam’s Butterflies is unlike any other mentorship program. At Sam's we focus on the whole girl through a faith based approach. Participants will learn and apply social emotional learning approaches, etiquette, self-compassion, public speaking, hygiene education and financial literacy.

We strive to close the generational gap and properly educate our young women in an effort to protect them from the improper education they are receiving from our media.

We love, educate and deliver tools to girls so they may be successful in any setting and possess the necessary skills to maneuver through this competitive world.

BACKSTORY

Sam was my paternal grandmother's nickname and she had a love for butterflies. As a little girl, I too was drawn to them out of my desire to be like her. Butterflies undergo a transformation that shares a symbolism with our lives. This metamorphosis doesn’t always receive enough credit. We relish in the result which is the butterfly, but we forget about the caterpillar, the isolation, and the transfiguration in that dark cocoon. Each girl that I have the opportunity to work with is like a caterpillar and these teen years can often feel like a dark cocoon. God has blessed me with tools and strategies to equip these young women and my hope is to give them all they need as they transform into butterflies. Upon leaving our workshops, may your girl be empowered, confident and transformed.
